Carolyn Austin Franklin

Carolyn enjoyed a long career serving children and staff at Sheffield Elementary School. Her biggest accomplishments in life were found in being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her compassion for taking care of others was one of the traits that will be missed most about her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents George and Gladys Austin, brothers Dixie and Johnny Austin and sisters Margie Martin, Shirley Wooldridge and twin Ruby Burnette. She is survived by her husband Joe Franklin Jr., daughters Sherrie Wilson (husband Robby) and Dana Loan (husband Wesley), grandchildren Brittany Willis (husband Mark), Anthony Wilson, Austin, Aaron (wife Emory and daughter Amora), and Joseph Loan and her sister Verla Lloyd and loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Fran Carter and staff of Centra Hospice for their care and support of Carolyn and family.

Carolyn’s family will receive friends at Whitten Funeral Home Timberlake Chapel on Wednesday Dec 20 from 6pm to 8pm. She will be laid to rest at Fort Hill Memorial Park at 2:00pm Thursday Dec 21, 2023.
