Chaney W. Layne

Chaney (Cindy) W. Layne, 83, of Lynchburg, died, Wednesday, September 07, 2011, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond William Layne. Born June 9, 1928, in Halifax County, she was the daughter of the late Emerson Waller and the late Lucy Jones Waller.

Mrs. Layne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Layne is preceded in death by one son, Glen Layne and one brother.

Mrs. Layne is survived by three daughters, Brenda Deaton and her husband Aubrey of Forest, June Waller and her husband Mitch of Brookneal and Lisa Campbell and her fiancée David Hudson of Lynchburg; one sister; three brothers; seven grandchildren including, Lolly Coleman and her husband Greg, Christy Elder and her husband James and Blake Campbell; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Coleman, Cooper Elder and Jackson Elder; a special friend, Joan Milton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2011, at the Church of God of Prophecy, with the Rev. Gary Vernon and the Rev. Larry Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at residences of Mrs. Layne's daughters.
