Born on January 7, 1972 in Lynchburg, he was the son of J. Richard and Cynthia M. Tucker and Robert W. and Donna Bragg Myers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph T. and L. Russell Tucker and Lawrence R. and Sallie Reid Bragg.
Chris graduated from Jefferson Forest High School in 1990. He had a multitude of vocational training, mastering many trades. For the last seven years, he served the Moneta Volunteer Fire Department where he was President and a lifetime member. He was humble, compassionate and had a special gift of leaving an impression on everyone that he encountered. He gave his all to his community, his family, his fellow firefighters and his friends. Above all, he was a single Dad to his beloved daughter, Abigail Lillian Tucker. They had a very special bond and loved spending time together. His spirit always remained unshakeable no matter what challenges he faced in life.
In addition to his parents and daughter, he is survived by his sister, Jennifer Tucker Bruns and her husband Matt and their children, Schuyler and Lawrence. He is also survived by his sister and caregiver, Kelly Myers Minnix and her children, Peyton L. Myers and Rowan C. Minnix. He is also survived by his great niece, Layla Williams.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomas Road Baptist Church in the Main Sanctuary officiated by Pastor Mack Almond. Burial will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
