

Born on February 14, 1950, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Clarence E. Witt and Ruby Sligh Witt.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Brenda, of 44 years, his son, Tony Edward Witt, of Lynchburg, VA, and his daughter, Connie S. Witt, of Evington, VA.
His precious grandsons, Tyler Edward Witt, Joshua Clayton Witt, and Rodney Vince Allen, Jr. Two precious granddaughters, Lena Grace Witt and Katelyn Elizabeth Witt. His devoted sisters, Alice Arrington, JoAnne Martin, Betty Jean Robertson. His niece, Tammy Martin, and two nephews, Ricky Jones and Michael Jones. Mother-in-law, Fanna C. Floyd, who thought of him as a son. Special brother-in-law, Larry Cash, whom he thought of as a brother, and his wife, Cheryl, of Franklin, IN. Sisters-in law, Patricia Bryant and her husband, Thomas, Louella Maxey and her husband, David, Paula Robertson and her husband, Bill, (Kristy), and Debbie Goode and her husband, David, (Kirby and David, Jr.) His beloved dachshound
, Mandy, who was always by his side. Many other friends and cousins including a special cousin, Doris Hale and her husband, Andy Hale. His dear friend of over twenty-two years, Robert Hamilton, and his wife, Marilyn. Also, Robert Arrington and Brenda.
He was owner of C.E. Witt Lawn Care and during the years he made many special friends. He was also part owner of Countryside Florist in Rustburg, VA. He drove buses for several local colleges, which he enjoyed very much. He was a friend to many and a stranger to none. He was a hard working man, enjoyed his gardens, and enjoyed life. He had a heart of gold and was a man you could always count on.
Sonny was an avid sports fan and a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was also a fan of #43, Richard Petty. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church for 30 years and was baptized by the late Dr. Jerry Falwell.

The family will receive friends at Whitten Timberlake Chapel on Sunday, May 27, 2012; from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at the Pate Chapel by Rev. Jonathan Falwell. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
