Clark Morgan Roakes

Born in Gladys, August 18, 1934, he was the son of the late John Henry Roakes and Hattie Scott Roakes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Thelma Layne Roakes.

Clark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a retired supervisor from Virginia Fiber.

He is survived by his children, Scott Roakes (Geraldine) of Moundville, AL, Janice McCallum (Henry) of Bedford, Laura Roakes of Roanoke and Christopher Roakes (Monica) of Roanoke; nine grandchildren, Matthew Roakes (Megan), Russell Roakes (Taylor), Reggie Roakes (Ashley), Doug McCallum (Breanna), Greg McCallum, Holly Lyons (Ron), Kara Pecoraro (Alex), Finn Mroz-Roakes and Jonah Mroz-Roakes; seven great grandchildren, Jake Roakes, Owen Roakes, Ollie Roakes, Avery Pecoraro, Elijah Pecoraro, Jeremy McCallum and Raelynn McCallum; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
