Claude "Cd" Delbert Colley

Claude Delbert “CD” Colley, 85, of Lynchburg peacefully passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at home. He was the husband of the late Betty Colley. Born November 6, 1932, in Tazewell, he was the son of the late Floyd Richard Colley and the late Gracie Bell White Colley. He was the eldest of 10 children.

CD served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a life-long truck driver. He loved reading the Bible, attending Gospel singings, and was an avid reader; but his favorite thing was going out to eat with family and friends and it didn’t matter where. CD was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, CD was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd Colley, Jr. and Raymond Colley; two brothers-in-law; three nieces and one nephew.

CD is survived by his daughter and caregiver, Judy Seigla and husband Keith of Lynchburg; son, Richard Colley and wife Rayne of Eden, NC. He is also survived by granddaughters, Jennifer Kearns and husband and co-caregiver, Shawn of Lynchburg, Ashley Colley of Morehead City, NC and Brittany Colley of Eden, NC; great granddaughter, Peyton Kearns and great-great grandson Brantley Kearns both of Stafford. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters, Don Colley and wife Frances, ray Colley and wife Nancy, Dorothy Baldwin and husband Joe, Ethel Stump, Betty Hurd and Tom Colley and wife Ruth Ann and Brenda Colley.

The family would like to thank the Centra Hospice staff who lovingly cared for Claude the past year.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Tom Colley and the Rev. Rick Ewing officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and from 5-8 p.m. at the residence of Judy and Keith Seigla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Rd., Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
