Born in Booneville, Mississippi, July 7, 1935, he was the son of the late Arthur Richey and Alice Allen Richey. After graduating college, he began his working career in the F.B.I. for a number of years then joined the US Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for six years. He retired from the US Government in the General Services Administration. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madelyn Kreis Richey; two sons, Bryan D. Richey and his wife Renee of Lynchburg and Brent E. Richey and his wife Kimberly of Boydton; five grandchildren, Jonathan Richey and wife Cassie, Heather Sprinkle and husband Preston, Luke Richey, Rachel Richey and Libby Richey and three great grandchildren, Jennie Richey, Maddie Sprinkle and Lainey Richey and soon to be born, Jack Colson Richey.
A service celebrating his life and faith will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
