Born January 28, 1968, Dana will be remembered as a woman whose life was defined by love in its most active, generous form. As a devoted mother, wife, and proud supporter of Brookville High School’s football team, she spent three seasons as a dedicated “team mom,” nourishing both body and spirit as she faithfully cared for the players she affectionately called her own.
Her compassion was not something she spoke about, it was something she lived daily. It could be seen in the quiet patience of her flower and vegetable gardens, which she tended with a nurturing hand and a keen eye, transforming ordinary spaces into places of growth and beauty. At home, that same spirit of care extended into moments both big and small, from cultivating her garden to building Lego creations side by side with her family, each act a reflection of her deep presence and joy in simply being together.
Dana lived with intention and heart. She chose love, again and again, in everything she did and for everyone she encountered. Her affection for animals was boundless; she welcomed each one with warmth, treating them not as pets, but as cherished members of the family.
Above all, Dana’s greatest devotion was to her family. They were the center of her world, the recipients of her unwavering care and compassion. The love she gave so freely will endure in their lives, even as her absence is deeply felt. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and selfless love that will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her mother Dana was preceded in passing by her sister Pamela Filko.
Those left to cherish Dana’s memory include her devoted and loving husband Victor Montalbano; her children Danielle Cook and her husband Nicholas, Victor C. Montalbano; her brother Charles “Chuck” Konop; her father Charles Konop and her nephew Albert Filko and his wife Jess, with their child Adalynn.
There will be a celebration of Dana’s life memorial service on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 3pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family invites friends to join them in visitation starting at 1pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
