David Christopher Godsey

David Christopher Godsey, 37, left this world February 25, 2013. Dave was born on May 23, 1975 to Robert and Nancy Godsey. Dave was a beautiful, unique, kind, and loving spirited man. He loved fishing, hunting, Virginia Tech, NASCAR, horseshoes, and his pet babies Dixie, Patsy, Mitzy and Hokie. Dave was known in our family as the "King of Wings" because of his amazing culinary skills.

Dave leaves a kind, gentle and loving son, Devon. Devon was the light of Dave's life. He also leaves behind his fiancée, Buffy Anderson.

He was loved by his seven brothers and sisters, Kristi (Terry) Woods, Karen (Byron) Roach, Kendell (Sherri) Godsey, Keith (Sharon) Godsey, Brenda Martin, JT Carter and Kelly (Skip) Cleland. He was loved by two special aunts and uncles, Sonny and Carolyn Smith and Sarah & Earl Taylor. He also leaves behind many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 6-7 p.m., with a celebration of Dave's life to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

Dave's family would like to express our love and gratitude to the Neurological ICU team at Lynchburg General Hospital and Dr. Ellegala, and RN's Melissa and Michele.
