Born November 11, 1937 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Dave Wesley and Mary Booker Lamb. He was a retired Manager of Quality Control at Delta Star, a former employee of General Electric, and a veteran of the Virginia National Guard.
Rand was the announcer at Bull Bucking at Boonsboro and a professional announcer for other bull rides, rodeos, and horse shows. He was also a professional judge at horse shows for many years and an auctioneer.
In addition to his wife, Rand is survived by three children, David Kevin Lamb and wife, Yvonne of Naola, Brian Thomas Lamb, and Randi Elizabeth Lamb, both of Lynchburg; one brother, Terry A. Lamb, also of Lynchburg and three grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Keys, Dakota Brian Keys, and Jessica Helen Lamb.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
