

Born February 10, 1943 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Cecil and Mildred Phillips Anders. Dean was a retired Firefighter with the Lynchburg Fire Department with twenty-three years of service. He was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Dean is survived by his daughter, Tammy Sherlin of Lynchburg; two brothers, Dennis F. Anders and wife, Phyllis of Goldsboro, NC and Kelly D. Anders of Lynchburg; two sisters, Kay A. Womack and husband, David of Salem and Dixie A. Ramey of Lynchburg and his granddaughter, Kelsey Sherlin, also of Lynchburg.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Carl Weiser officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
