He was born on January 23, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late Irvin May and the late Helen M. May. Donald is also preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Beall.
Donald was a devoted member of Thomas Road Baptist Church and served his country in the Navy. He was deeply passionate about evangelism and dedicated much of his life to showing people the way to heaven, even in his most recent assisted-living environment. He spent six years in Maui, Hawaii, working in evangelism with the people on the island. His love for reading the Bible was evident to all who knew him, and he found great joy in sharing his faith with others.
Donald was a loving and devoted family man who prayed faithfully for his children and grandchildren. He always made time to listen and offer wise counsel to those in need. He was a great provider for his family and worked tirelessly to ensure their well-being. His kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce N. May, five children; Patty Ferrin (Ron), Sandee Francetic (Paul), Pam Hinsenkamp (Joe), Debbie Stern (Larry), and Bill May (Denise), one brother; Stanley May, fourteen grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Thomas Road Baptist Church Pate Chapel with Pastor Matt Willmington officiating.
In his passing, Donald leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service that will continue to inspire others for generations to come. His impact on the lives of those he encountered will never be forgotten. Donald will be remembered as a devoted man of God, a loving family member, and a pillar of strength in his community.
