Dorothy Fields Sirocco

Dorothy Fields Sirocco, 92, of Amherst, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital, surrounded by her daughter and three grandsons. She was the loving wife of the late William David Sirocco, Sr.

Born on April 22, 1925 in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ashley Fields and Nora Watts Fields. Dorothy was a loving grandmother to her three grandsons that called her Nana and she was like a second mother to them. She was also privileged to have three great grandchildren who loved her and called her Nana Dot. Dorothy was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her son, William David Sirocco, Jr. who died during the Vietnam War in 1969; her daughter, Robyn Ann Sirocco; and siblings, Robert Fields, Margaret Bryant, and Marion Fields.

She leaves behind her daughter, Karen Sirocco and husband Bruce Jones; three grandsons and three great grandchildren, David Bee Allen and his daughter, Autumn Allen, Shan L. Allen, and Vince L. Allen and wife Suzanne and their children Drew and Matt Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
