
Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love for God, family and friends. She was a living example of living life well.
Born and raised in Iowa, Dorothy lived in Largo, Florida for 50+ years with John, her late husband of 67 years.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, Warren Mitchell (Washington State), her sister Loretta Berhow (Minnesota), two sons, Gary Snyder (wife Florayne) of Bedford, VA and Tom Snyder (wife Marie) of Durham, NC, two daughters, Mary Jones (husband Phil) of Bedford, VA and Cathy Hewitt (husband Raymond) of Chesapeake, VA, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
While Dorothy taught in a one room school house in Iowa… and served in the Commercial Loan Department at Bank of America in Largo Florida where she retired, Dorothy would tell you that raising a wonderful family, enjoying each phase of life, and serving the Lord were her greatest accomplishments. Dorothy was a founding member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, Florida, where she remained a faithful member for over 50 years. Dorothy recently moved to Bedford, VA to be closer to family.
Join all who knew Dorothy in celebrating a life lived for God and family. Memorial services will be held at Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church in Gretna, Virginia on Saturday, March 29th.
