

Born August 22, 1928 in Appomattox he was a son of the late George and Walkie Richardson. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Staton.
George was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of Lynchburg Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Karen R. Simpson and husband, Kirk, Starla Richardson and husband, Dale Alderman, Michelle Buckingham and husband, Brad, Courtney R. DeStasio and husband, Darrin; sisters, Mildred Niemeyer, Virginia Wirt, Joyce Smith; grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas Simpson and wife, Kate, Cameron Simpson and wife, Hannah, Chase Alderman, Logan Alderman, Riley DeStasio, Reece DeStasio; great-granddaughter, Juniper Simpson; and special friend and neighbor, Velma Kidd.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 23, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
A Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Rev. Jack D. Karpenske. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
