Gerald (Pops) Wayne Pickeral, Sr., 69, of Lynchburg, died, Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salem. Born March 26, 1943, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Eddie Bernard Pickeral, Sr. and the late Edna Arthur Pickeral.
Gerald was a retired groundskeeper for Falwell Corporation and he was a member of Shekinah Glory Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Ennis and one sister, Shirley Blackburn.
Gerald is survived by four children, Gerald W. “Jerry” Pickeral, Jr. and his fiancée Melissa Powell of Rustburg, Donnie Ennis and his wife Thelma of Rustburg, Elizabeth Carey and her fiancée Kenny of Madison Heights and Connie Ennis and her fiancée Pete of Rustburg; one brother, E.B. Pickeral of Lynchburg; his former wife, Margaret Ennis; seventeen grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Beth Ann Riggleman and her husband Kent of Lynchburg; four great-grandchildren; and three nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
