
Born April 16, 1948, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Hazel Edward and Ina Thomas Hamilton. He was a retired clerk with Vista Foods and a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Evington.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hamilton is preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Madeline Barnard.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by three step-daughters, Donna Dixon of Appomattox, Brenda Williams and her husband Ronnie of Arrington, Linda Vitale of Lynchburg, one brother James E. Hamilton and his wife, Dorothy of Concord; five step-grandchildren; six step-great-grand children; three nieces; one nephew and a number of other extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Fort Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. R. Scott Dean.
The family will receive friends at Whitten Timberlake Chapel Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 7-8:30 p.m.
