Born in Pittsylvania County, August 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert Holmes Trent and Ruby Roach Trent. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, H.D. Trent, Jr. and his wife Vida of Rustburg and Brian Trent of Brookneal; one sister, Ellen Callaham of Hurt and five grandchildren, Tiffany T. Lambert, Alyssa M. Trent, Brian Trent, Jr., Carl Falls, Jr. and Crystal Moore and his nephew, Raleigh G. Trent and his great nephew Phillip Trent.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Carlton Dunn, Jr. officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
