
Hazel Mae Woody Suddith, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late John William Suddith, Sr.
Born March 28, 1917 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence William (Catfish) Woody and Myrtle McCormick (Big Mama) Woody and was also preceded in death by one sister, Mannie Moyers; three brothers, Clarence, Richard, and Malcolm Woody and two grandsons, Herman Eldridge Barbour, Jr. and David Allen Barbour. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and was a member of Fairview Christian Church.
Mrs. Suddith is survived by her daughter, Connie Puckette and husband, Cleolan of Forest; one son, John William “Bill” Suddith, Jr, also of Forest; one granddaughter, Wendy B. Falls and husband Ervin; two great-grandsons, Jeremy and Jonathan Falls, all of Huddleston; one great-great-grandson, Hunter Falls; a sister-in-law, Louise Woody of Lynchburg and many loved and cherished nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2011 at Presbyterian Cemetery with Pastor J. Mike Dodson officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday, at the funeral home, prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter.
