Born December 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Otis Basil and Lena Godsey Mayberry and was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Helen retired from Mead Corporation and served many years as a volunteer at Lynchburg General Hospital. Helen was a member of Keystone Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the KEY Seniors.
Helen is survived by one sister, Margaret Layne of Lynchburg and numerous nieces and nephews. She was very grateful for the care and devotion provided by her nephew, Richard Chewning, and nieces, Pat Grubbs and Audrey Lindsay.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 3 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Dr. J. Monty Fox officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 2 pm.
