
Henry E. Williams, Jr., 85, of Columbus, GA and presently residing in Lynchburg, passed away, Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Slagle Home. He was the husband of the late Julia Warren Williams. He was born on June 6, 1925, to the late Henry Ellis Williams, Sr. and Ruby Rhoden Marotta.
Mr. Williams was a retired machinist for West Point Pepperell and a member of St. Andrew Methodist Church in Columbus, GA.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Williams is preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Gene Williams; one sister, Madge W. Phillips; and one granddaughter, Susannah Thomas Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by four children, Linda Williams Freeland and husband Larry of Dawsonville, GA, Ellis Warren Williams and wife Marilyn of Ellijay, GA, Gary Thomas Williams and wife Beth of Coleman Falls and Thaddeus Martin Williams and Cindy Williams of Conyers, GA; one sister, Betty Ann Barbee of Trussville, AL; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Williams of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Bostelman, Julie Goodrow and husband Joel, Walter Williams, Hannah Williams, Rachel Williams, Caleb Williams, Lindsey Williams, Brent Williams and Brandon Williams; and four great-grandchildren, Will Bostelman, Elena Goodrow, Ethan Goodrow and Emily Goodrow; and many other loving family members and extended Lynchburg family including the Richards family and the Slagle Home family.
A memorial service will be conducted, 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Scholer officiating. A memorial service will also be conducted, 1:00 p.m., May 1, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home in Columbus, GA with the Rev. Warren Williams officiating. Interment will take place 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011, at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Columbus, GA.
The family will receive friends, 7-8:30 p.m., today at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
