

Born February 20, 1936 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Florence Ayers Conn Williams and was also preceded in death by his step father, Hallie Williams and four sisters, Peggy Mayberry, Ruby Foster, June (Sarah) Wilson, and Etta Hamlett. Mr. Conn was a retired Maintenance Supervisor with the City of Lynchburg with thirty-four years of service. He was a longtime member of Timberlake Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by one son, David E. Conn; one grandson, Gavin E. Conn, both of Charlotte, NC; a brother-in-law, Cecil Bobbitt and his wife Cindy and their daughter, Mackenzie, all of Madison Heights and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Richard Jett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
