Born September 10, 1959 in Richwood, WV, he was the son of the late Delmar Marlen and Hilda Harris Hanna and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Katie Rivera and a half-sister, Terri McNew. He was retired from Holland’s Construction Company.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by two children, Simone Rivera and Jamie Rivera, both of Evington; three sisters, Linda H. Trent and husband Don of Evington, Sandy H. Garrison and husband Darryl of Bedford, and Marge H. Zimmerman of Charlestown, WV; four half-sisters, Melissa Martin, Roberta Jenkins, Sherry Nicholas, and Gerri Atkins and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Brumfield officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
