

Born June 15, 1927, in Covington, he was a son of the late James Garrett Logwood and Sadie Hudson Logwood.
Mr. Logwood was a United States Navy veteran, having served in WW II, with the Seabees and was retired from Mead Rock-Tenn. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker, and a former Scoutmaster of Troop #10, at Memorial UMC.
Survivors also include five children, James D. Logwood and wife Marcia, of Virginia Beach, Gary L. Logwood, of Washington, DC, Claude A. Logwood and wife Mary, of Madison Heights, Annette L. Hairfield and husband Randy, of Richmond, and Sherry L. Maidon, of Fuquay-Varina, NC; his brother, Raymond Logwood, of Staunton; two sisters, Doris L. Burley, of Big Island, and Vivian L. Hughes, of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Megan Dunstan and husband Matt, Bethany Spreeman and husband Todd, Ellen Ayers and husband Richard, James V. Logwood, Olivia, and Jacob Hairfield, Victoria, and Andrew Maidon; four great-grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, and Lily Dunstan, and Samuel Ayers, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from7-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, and at other times at the residence.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011, at Spring Hill Cemetery, by the Rev. Richard Jett. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post #16.
