

Jean Padgett Krantz, of Lynchburg, Va. went home to heaven February 2, 2016. She was born in Lynchburg, August 27, 1926. Her parents were the late James Hubert Padgett and Bernice Tankersley Tinsley of Forest, VA. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, John Krantz, Jr. of Rustburg.
Jean is survived by her husband of seventy years, Russell A Krantz, Sr. and a sister Geraldine Padgett of Lynchburg. She is also is survived by four children, Russell A. Krantz, Jr (Wanda), John D. Krantz (Beckie), Lynn Krantz Williams (Jackie), and Gerald L. Krantz (Robin).
Jean was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, Selena Blankenship Hayes (Shawn), Cory Krantz (Holly), and Tina Krantz, all of Lynchburg, Virginia, Kyle Williams (Tanya) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Kelly Williams Carter (Van) of Richmond, Kacy Williams Hightower (Daniel) of Baskerville, Tony Cobb and Chris Cobb, both of Lynchburg, Shannon Tarkington of Edenton, North Carolina. She is also survived by nineteen great- grandchildren. Jean loved her family. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. She loved family get- togethers.
Jean worked at Fairview Drug Store, their family drug store, for twenty-eight years alongside her husband. She was a faithful member of Fairview Christian Church. She loved her church and church friends. For years, she took an active part in her church.
A celebration of Jean's life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2016 Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Curtis Wheeler and the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the funeral home.
