Born in Lynchburg, July 16, 1968, he was the son of the late Van Edward Banton, Jr. and Betty Doss Banton. Prior to his illness, John had been employed with Virginia Candle Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a loving father and brother.
He is survived by two daughters, Kayla Banton and Kinsey Banton, and his former wife and mother of his children Tammy Banton all of Evington; three sisters, Brenda Riddle, Connie Hensley and husband Gene and Diana Smith; one brother, Van Banton, III and his wife Debbie; one granddaughter, Taylor Monroe and a number of nieces and nephews.
