Born on October 21, 1940, in Bedford, he was the son of the late Charles and Lizzie Bowyer.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam as a "Red Diamond Veteran" Sergeant. He retired from GE/Ericsson.
He is survived by his son; James Allen Bowyer (Lisa); grandchildren, Caitlin Pillow (David), Cassidy Bowyer and Zach Bowyer; and great grandchildren: Carter Pillow and Jensen Pillow.
A graveside service will be held on January 6th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Hill Memorial Park in the Veterans' Section. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 16.
