He was born on April 22, 1962 in Lynchburg, son of the late Carlton R. Preas, Sr. and the late Mattie R. Preas. He is preceded in death by one brother, Carlton R. Preas, Jr.
John had a love for hunting and fishing, especially deer hunting. He also enjoyed cooking. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his two sisters; Kathy P. Morgan (RT) and Linda P. Cox, one niece; Michelle Stanley (Jamie), five nephews; Michael Cox (Misty), Randy Morgan (JoAnn), Tommy Morgan (Kandice), Roger L. Preas, and Gary A. Preas. John is also survived by his longtime companion, Linda Johnson.
The family has requested the services be kept private.
