
John Clifton Wooldridge, Jr., 78, of Forest, died, Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Garbee Wooldridge. He was born March 7, 1933, in Lynchburg to the late John Clifton Wooldridge, Sr. and Annie Bryant Wooldridge.
Mr. Wooldridge was a retired correctional officer for the state of Virginia and a member of Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Wooldridge was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and he served our country in the US Naval Reserve.
Mr. Wooldridge is survived by two sons, Terry Lee Wooldridge of Kissimmee, Florida and William Thomas Wooldridge and his wife Tammie of Bedford; three grandchildren, Tricia Wooldridge Silby, Terry Lee Wooldridge, Jr. and Thomas Scott Eggleston Wooldridge; and five great-grandchildren, PFC Curstin Nicole Silby, Jacob Lee Silby, Austin Silby, Jackson Blue Wooldridge and Charlotte Loretta Wooldridge
A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. C. Randall Harlow officiating, where there will also be a service of the Masonic Rite.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
