

Joyce Kittleson Stephens Snead, 92, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Runk & Pratt Residential Care Center. Twice married, she was the widow of Voyle Wray Stephens and Henry Maurey Snead, Jr.
Born in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Alvin B. Kittleson and the late Pauline Padgett Kittleson. An infant daughter, Karen Stephens, and a devoted brother-in-law, Tom Bacon, preceded her in death.
Joyce was a retired technician from Lynchburg General Hospital and she served her country in the Women’s Army Corps. during World War II. She was a member or Heritage United Methodist Church and Chestnut Hill Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, E. Ron Stephens and his wife, Lynn, of Lynchburg, Darrell W. Stephens and his wife, Betty, of Lake Worth, FL, Sheila S. Fox of Lynchburg, and David Stephens and his wife, Rhonda, of Madison Heights; two sisters, June K. Bacon and Pat K. Hicks, both of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Paul Stephens and wife, Susanna, of Appomattox; Tiffany Stegall and husband, David, of Springdale, AR; Mark Stephens and wife, Shelley, of Lynchburg; Lisa Lee and husband, Jeff, of Forest; Christy Mays and husband, Donnie, of Concord; Joe Stephens and wife, Jennifer, of Forest; and Milton Fox, Jr. and fiancé, Gina Bradley, of Lynchburg; eleven great grandchildren; a special cousin, Elizabeth Ann Wilkerson, and her husband Tommy; a dear friend, Janie Muller and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
