

Born January 22, 1923 in Lynchburg, VA, he was a son of the late Sidney M. and Myrtis Baker Foster.
Mr. Foster retired from General Electric with over 30 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Fairview Christian Church and an active member of the men’s class. He was also active in Meals on Wheels, a member of the Odd Fellows, and UCT organization.
He is survived by a son, Gary W. Foster and his wife, Jane of Madison Heights; a daughter, Carolyn F. West and her husband, Kenneth of Forest; brother, Warren M. Foster of Lynchburg; and 4 grandchildren, Brent West and wife Jarilenny, Tracey Stanton and husband Chris, Angie Bryant, and husband Stevie, Jennifer Jessee and husband Patrick; five great-grandchildren, Alex West, Tyler Stanton, Kelsea and Rachael Bryant and Ashton Jessee.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday February 2, 2011 at Fairview Christian Church conducted by the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Medical Care for the kindness shown to Mr. Foster during his care, and to special friends Ray and Doris West and Ida Slaughter.
