Larry Donald Childress

Born April 13, 1951, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Peachye G. Childress, of Rustburg, and the late C.H. Childress, of Texas. He was employed by J.B. Hunt Trucking.

He is survived by three sons, Joseph Edward Childress, Matthew Wayne Childress and wife, Helana, and Noah Donald Childress; grandson, Brandon Scott Childress. He is also survived by five sisters, Mary Lorene Irby, of Hurt, Virginia Ellen Thacker, of Eden N.C., Barbara Ann Dunford, of Jacksonville, Fla., Janice Arlene English, of Lynchburg, and Catherine Diane East, of Concord; two brothers, Roger Dale Childress, of Roanoke, and James Allen Childress, of Texas.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel, by the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton.
