Margaret Layne Adkins of Lynchburg passed away on August 20, 2023 at Seven Hills Assisted Living with her family by her side. Born in Lynchburg on August 27, 1952, she was one of five children of Earl S. and Margaret Layne.
Margaret was a wonderful mother and caregiver to her daughter, Rhonda. Her love was felt by all those who knew her including many children who called her their 2nd mom. One of her passions was that she loved to play bingo and to find treasures at yard sales. Margaret was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
Margaret has left love and memories to her daughter, Rhonda Adkins, and her mother, Margaret Layne.
She also leaves behind her loving brothers, Earl W. Layne (Carol), Roy L. Layne (Dorothy), Robert G. Layne, and Lewis J. Layne (Penny), and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Earl S. Layne.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitten Timberlake Chapel on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Rick Rasberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm prior to the service.
