

Born in Rustburg, October 14, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Bunyan Monroe and Lois Pearl Finch Monroe. She was a retired secretery from Chesterfield County after 17 years of service and was a member of Indian Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara B. Alston and her husband Robert and Margaret B. Armistead and her husband Calvin all of Chesterfield and Julia B. Timberlake and her husband Parker of Powatan; one sister, Virginia Belmont of Daytona Beach, FL; two brothers, Warren “Sonny” Monroe and Marvin “Pete” Monroe both of Rustburg; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and many dear friends and extended family.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Indian Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Litton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
The family request memorial contributions be made to the Indian Hill United Methodist Church or the Concord Rescue Squad.
