
Martin “Buck” Luther Caldwell, 89, of Rustburg passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Bedford Hospice House. He was the husband of Patricia Lee Hall Caldwell. Born December 29, 1927, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Washington Hunter Caldwell and the late Mary Willie Bagby Caldwell.
Martin was a retired self-employed farmer, and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He also served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, William Hunter Caldwell (Margaret) and Stephen Howard Caldwell (Catherine) and one sister, Marie Caldwell Neighbors (Bennie).
In addition to his wife, Martin is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his loving church family.
A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017, at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2772 Bethany Rd., Rustburg, VA 24588 with Chaplain Justin Brown officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends following the service at Bethany United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
