Michael Haywood Layne

Michael Haywood Layne, 65, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 16, 2017. Born February 8, 1952 in Lynchburg, he was the son of Peggy Knowles Layne of Lynchburg and the late Mott Haywood Layne. Michael was a Product manager with American Hofmann and a longtime local musician. In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his daughter, Jaime Marie Layne of Lynchburg; two sisters, Peggy L. Eagle (Preston) and Leslie S. Layne (David Tucker); a brother, Dennis Layne (Robin) and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael also leaves to cherish his memory, his significant other, Judi J. Henry of Moneta. The family will receive friends and celebrate Michael’s life at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
