Nancy Tolley Stanley

Nancy Tolley Stanley, 80, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at the Seven Hills Hospice House. She was the wife of the late John Edward Stanley. Born December 31, 1934, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late James Carl Tolley and the late Lucy Tomlinson Tolley.

Nancy was a retired PBX Operator for Virginia Baptist Hospital and she was a member of Memorial Christian Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was preceded in death by three siblings, James E. Tolley Enith Hill and Maxine Wright; and one great granddaughter, Brandy Hall.

Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Childress and her husband Billy of Lynchburg, Debbie Coates and her husband Mike of Gladys and Cindy Jennings of Lynchburg; one sister, Geraldine Tomlin of Big Island; seven grandchildren, C. Michael Childress and his wife Magda, Troy Childress and his wife Heather, Jennifer Granados and her husband Geoff, Vincent Dalton, Jonathan Mitchell and his wife Becky, Christy Jarrell and Michael Coates; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Knipp and the Rev. Sue Knipp officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at the residence of Billy and Barbara Childress and Mike and Debbie Coates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seven Hill Hospice, 2250 Murrell Road #2, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
