

Mrs. Cooper was a longtime resident of Fort Avenue, eight years at Valley View Retirement Community, and fifteen months at Colonial Heights Health Care Center, Colonial Heights, Va.
Nellie was one of twelve children born to J. Walker and Sarah Shoemaker Doss, living in both Appomattox and Campbell counties. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank W. Cooper and her three sons, Wallace (infant), W.F. “Billy”, and Jerry.
Nellie is survived by 11 nieces and three nephews, and predeceased by three nieces and five nephews.
Nellie was a longtime member of College Hill Baptist Church, Lynchburg. She endeared herself to family and friends. She was a most loved lady.
Nellie’s funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at College Hill Baptist Church, 1101 Floyd Street, Lynchburg, with the Rev. Andrew Grose, former pastor at College Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service starting at noon.
