He was born on October 6, 1950, in Lynchburg, VA, to the late Marion Price Elliott and Alva J. Elliott. Preston was preceded in death by his brothers Carlton Price Elliott and Marion Lee Elliott, and his sister Patricia Ann Dudley.
Preston is survived by his loving daughter, Brandy Elliott Guthrie (Robert), and his brother, John Wesley Elliott, Sr. He also leaves behind three grandchildren; Chasidy Elliott Coleman, Travis Guthrie, and Tonya Guthrie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Preston is also survived by several special people whom he considered to be family, treating them as daughters: Lauren Peters, Heather Brown, Shawna Martin, Pam Johnson, Larkin Campbell, and the twins Michelle Hall and Crystal Burrill, who were also his neighbors.
Preston proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army. He found joy tending to his garden, particularly taking pride in growing tomatoes which he generously shared with family and friends. An avid lover of the outdoors, Preston enjoyed camping and motorcycle rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. He had a passion for photography, capturing the beauty of the outdoors.
Known for his sense of humor and love for practical jokes, Preston brought laughter wherever he went. He adored his pets, including his dogs Duke, Daisy, and Brandi Lynn, his pony named Buttercup and his donkey named Rebel. His granddaughter Chasidy held a special place in his heart and brought him immense joy.
You always knew where you stood with Preston; if he liked you, you knew it, and if he didn't like you, then you knew it too. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
