Obituario de Ralph "Popeye" William Tomlin Sr.
Ralph "Popeye" Tomlin, Sr. In the early morning hours of April 27, a golden heart stopped beating and Heaven’s table made room for one more. Ralph William Tomlin, Sr., 81, of Lynchburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior. Born in Vesuvius, VA on May 12, 1940 to the late Henry Dewey and Nevie Staton Tomlin. He was the devoted husband to his best girl, Julia (Judy) Brandt Tomlin, who he absolutely adored for 59 years. He was the beloved Father and North Star to Nancy Tomlin Garcia of Williamsburg and R. William (Bill) Tomlin, Jr. and his wife Stacy Moore Tomlin of Forest. Ralph had four grandson, Joseph Manuel Garcia and Morgan Brandt Garcia of Portland, Oregon and William Colby Tomlin and Matthew Ryan Tomlin of Forest, who lovingly called him Popeye. He was so very proud of each of them and loved them with his whole heart. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Florine Beard, Roy Tomlin, Elizabeth Burks, Smith Tomlin, Harold Tomlin, Myrtle Torley, Louis Tomlin, Lois Matney, Betty Meeks, and Wayne Tomlin. Ralph was a proud employee of Southern Air, Inc. for 43 years. He was gifted in his trade and his reputation for quality and precision were well known. A devoted family man, everyone who knew Ralph Tomlin knew he loved his family. He will be remember as sweet and kind, always with a smile and kind word. He was fiercely loyal with a dry sense of humor with one line zingers, and a talent for talking like Donald Duck to the delight of old and young alike. To know him was to love him. A golden heart stopped beating, but his sweet and loving memory will live forever. Husband, Father, Popeye we more than love you. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Jim Whitaker officiating.
