

Born January 29, 1947, Robert dedicated more than 30 years of service as an operator with Delta Star. After his retirement, he continued to stay active in the community by working part-time at Big Horn Market on Leesville Road.
A man devoted to faith and family, Robert found great joy in spending time with loved ones and serving those around him. As a pastor, he was passionate about supporting youth programs, visiting the sick, and offering guidance and compassion to everyone he met.
In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in passing by his wife, Maxine E. Brown Miller; his daughter Nancy Lee Brown; his siblings William Brown and his wife Patricia; Andrew Brown and his wife Jean, Helen Brown, Floretta Brown, Carson Poindexter, Janie Dillard, Mary Poindexter, and Truly Poindexter.
Those left to cherish Robert’s memory include his son Robert Lee Brown, Jr.; his daughter Maggie M. Johnson and her husband Jose; his granddaughter Martisha N. Johnson; siblings Catherine Payne and her husband Isaiah, Virginia Haley and her husband George, Adlene Organ and her husband Emory, Valarie Brewer and her husband Everett; his close loyal nieces April Tardy, Kissha Payne and close nephew AJ; close grand-nephews Andrew Waller, Trayzon Wooding, James Charlton IIII and a host of additional nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Whitten Timberlake Chapel on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
