

Robert Edward Davidson, 85, of Forest passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, at the Heartland of Lynchburg. He was the husband of Helen Eggers Davidson for 61 years. Born February 25, 1932, in Rustburg, he was the son of the late Lee Davidson and the late Stella Mae Dowdy Davidson.
Robert was a retired lab technician for Framatone/Areva and served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Rustburg Presbyterian Church and attended Timberlake Baptist Church. Robert was an avid turkey hunter, where he was a lifetime member and benefactor the National Turkey Foundation. He loved cats and being outdoors and cutting wood at the home place. Robert was a quiet and gentle man of few words.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Davidson Scott; and one brother, William Lee Davidson.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughter, Robin Davidson Wilkerson and her husband Maxey of Lynchburg; son-in-law, Jed Scott of Salem; special nieces, June Dutrum and Libbie Davidson; and numerous cousins and other family members.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and fellowship to follow at 6 p.m. at the Eggers’ home place.
