

Bobby was born December 13, 1932 in Lynchburg to Goldie B. Weringo and Leroy W. Weringo. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marjorie Weringo Megginson, and his beloved wife of 68 years, Joyce Parker Weringo.
He is remembered as a kind, giving, funny gentleman who served others. Bobby loved fishing, golfing, traveling, and scuba diving. He retired as an owner/operator of Greyhound Bus Lines of Lynchburg after 47 years of service. He was an active member for over 20 years of the Lynchburg Life Saving Crew, training others, helping to save lives, and served roles as Captain, Lieutenant, and President. His work with the Crew led to his desire to water rescue and recovery, and to scuba diving. He co-founded Central Virginia Scuba Divers Association, and enjoyed diving in lakes, rivers, and quarries for training & rescue, which led to his love of ocean diving in the Florida Keys for pleasure.
Bobby is survived by his three children, Lynn Weringo Carroll, Donna A. Weringo, and David “Tony” A. Weringo (Tammy). He has three grandchildren, Patrick S. Day, Zachary L. Weringo, and Judith Anne Carroll and two great grandchildren. Other family he is survived by are brother, Richard “Ricky” W. Weringo of SC, sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Thomas Weringo (Ted) of KY, and brothers James “Jamie” W. Weringo of NC as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, February 4, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Spring Hill Cemetery.
