Rosa was born on November 12, 1944, in the town of Carini, in the province of Palermo, Sicily. Rosa immigrated to the United States from Sicily, carrying with her a deep love for her culture and traditions, building a life rooted in resilience and hard work.
Rosa lived a full life devoted to her family as a loving mother, nonna, wonderful cook, and talented seamstress whose skill was evident in everything she created.
She is survived by her three children: Vincenzo, Antonella, and Giacomo Vitale; her grandson Joshua and his wife Angelique; grandchildren Alaynna, Anjolina, Leo, Lilly, and Nika; her son-in-law Michael Schiller and daughter-in-law Anna Vitale; as well as many nieces and nephews throughout the United States, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. Her smile, wit, and good heart will forever be cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The family will receive friends prior to the Mass from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. A reception will follow the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery.
