Born in Lynchburg on June 18, 1945 he was a son of the late Benjamin Rice and Sallie Rice. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from General Electric and Rice Row LLC.
He is survived by his children, Brad Rice of Evington and Kimberly Fitzgerald of Virginia Beach; two siblings, Ann White of Coleman Falls and Katherine Brown of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, January 3, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Mike Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
