Terrell Edward Powell, born on February 12, 1957, peacefully passed away on March 6, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved son of Vernard Edward Powell Jr. and Virginia June Elliott Powell, both of whom preceded him in death.
Terrell dedicated much of his life to his work as a millwright for Rock Tenn, showcasing his skill and dedication in every project he undertook. He found joy in the simplicity of life, cherishing moments spent fishing with his son Shane, sharing a love for UVA sports, and indulging in his passion for music and playing the guitar.
A true enthusiast, Terrell also enjoyed spending time with computers, watching Gunsmoke, and relishing the sweetness of watermelon. His love extended to his family, friends, and his faith, finding solace and community in church and fostering connections on Facebook with friends.
Terrell is survived by his loving son, Shane Edward Powell, and is remembered fondly by his sisters Sharon Powell Marilla, Joan Powell Bateman (Eric), and his brother Dennis Elliott Powell (Sharon). He will be missed by Deborah Powell Staples, his nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, Virginia. The family is being assisted by Whitten Timberlake Chapel during this difficult time.
Terrell Edward Powell's legacy of love, laughter, and warmth will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
