Born in Pittsylvania County, April 20, 1930, he was the son of the late James Taylor Jacobs and Cora Mays Jacobs. He was retired from the Meade Corporation with over 30 years of service. Tom was a US Army veteran and served in Korea. Tom was an avid baseball fan and loved the Chicago Cubs and the Lynchburg Hillcats. He was also a fan of UVA athletics and was a longtime member and Deacon of College Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four nieces, Beverly Fortune, Marsha Crawford, Cynthia Shields and Katherine Doss and his beloved Dachshund “Gabby”.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Andrew Grose officiating.
The family request memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
