

Thomas Barrington Field “Skeeter”, 79, of Lynchburg, died, Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maxine Cash Field. Born October 17, 1933, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Allie Carroll Field and the late Leona Hawkins Field.
Skeeter was a retired purchasing agent for Sterling Blower Company and he was of the Catholic faith. He was also a member of the VVA and the American Legion.
In addition to his wife and parents, Skeeter was preceded in death by one brother, Allie C. “A.C.” Field, Jr.
Skeeter is survived by his daughter, Cynthia F. Rybolt and her husband David of Charlottesville; two sons, W.C. Field and his wife Sandra of Lynchburg and Stephen R. Field and his wife Bonnie, also of Lynchburg; one sister, Betty F. Arthur and her husband Carey of Spout Spring; five grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two special pet friends, P-Diddy and Hercules.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Alice Powell, RN and the Centra Hospice Staff for their loving care towards Skeeter.
