Vicky Kay Mathews

Vicky Kay Mathews, 48, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard Louis Mathews, Jr. Born October 24, 1962 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Paul Neal Adams and the late Liona Jean Brumfield Adams.

In addition to her father, Vicky is survived by five children, Tammy Wilson, Tiffany Johnson and her husband, Sterling, Richard Mathews, III, Amber Cleveland and Ashley Cleveland, all of Lynchburg; five siblings, Diane Robertson and her husband, James of Lynchburg, Betty Martin and her husband, Ronnie of Evington, Gail Sherlin and her husband, Tommy of Lynchburg, Mike Adams of Lynchburg and Sue Reid and her husband, Thomas of Evington; and seven grandchildren, Alyssa Baber, Biore Hood, Jada Hood, Aniyah Johnson, Makynna Johnson, Aiden Johnson and Kamden Mathews.

A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Brumfield Family Cemetery in Hurt with the Rev. Curtis Walkup officiating.

The family will receive friends, 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the needs of the family.
