Born July 25, 1915 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Isaac T. and Betty Shiplett Eades and was also preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Eades and a sister, Lillie E. Perry. Mrs. Almond was retired from General Electric.
Mrs. Almond is survived by one son, George B. “Pete” Almond, Jr. and wife Norma of Lynchburg; one daughter, Norma Jean Jenkins and husband Lloyd of Smithfield and many special grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2016 at Virginia Memorial Park with the Rev. Janet Hawkins officiating.
